Jim is the President of 21st Century Productions, Inc., a Tampa based full-service communications firm specially designed to visually support marketing and communications campaigns. jim has a very special talent at creating a vision through powerful writing and images. He is able to shape ideas into compelling stories that inspire people to act.

Jim has 35 years experience in the communications field with a special emphasis on the transportation industry. He has supervised and managed public relations, education and information outreach efforts as well as marketing and promotional projects throughout Florida and the nation.

He’s an accomplished producer, television correspondent, writer and cinematographer. As a former television journalist, Jim spent two decades as a reporter covering the days headline stories with live news coverage.  He knows the ins and outs of how a newsroom operates and what stories are of interest to the viewers. He has vast experience dealing with the media. Simply, Mr. Larsen knows how to get the word out, and he creates a buzz by using the media without paying for it directly through advertising. He has established valuable media contacts to maximize positive coverage in the media as well as expertise in crisis management.

Jim is a Silver Telly award winner and member of the prestigious Silver Council. He is an expert at handling public involvement projects from creative concept to completion. As a former television news reporter, he has written and produced a variety of special projects, documentaries, public service announcements, corporate, sales and promotional presentations, as well as speeches and news releases. Along with researching, writing and supervising the production of promotional, informational and educational materials, he has a proven track record for successfully managing and supervising public involvement transportation projects from their development through coordination and operation.

In recognition of his outstanding talents, Jim has been honored with two Silver Telly awards. This highly-respected national competition is equivalent to the motion picture academy Oscar and is a tribute to his significant creative accomplishments. He won in several categories in recognition of his writing, producing, and work behind the camera.

Jim’s been involved in some of the most successful Public Information and Awareness Campaigns centering on personal contact with business and civic leaders to construct a positive approach and gain support for the projects he’s been involved in.   Through this approach he is able to instill a sense of community pride which leads to widespread acceptance.

Jim has been involved in national marketing pursuits  for high-level projects involving several fortune 500 companies. . Jim will take the ideas and concepts developed by the team and will help to create powerful visual materials to help carry out the messaging, branding and educational outreach.

His recent support efforts include:

  • U.S. Air Force – Air Installation Compatible Use Zone study, Little Rock, AR. The U.S. Air Force developed a program to promote compatible land use around military airfields. Management and oversight. Researched, wrote, produced, directed the development of materials for a public outreach campaign.
  • Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority, Tampa, FL. Management and agency interface for various public outreach and community involvement projects.  Responsibility to showcase the importance of transportation to the community and how HART is meeting the continuing challenges of the future.
  • I-75 Safety Campaign, FDOT District 7. A multi-facited grass roots effort aimed at reducing deaths and crashes on I-75. Generated written material for PSAs, billboards and news releases. Cordinated project activities and events with local media.
